The Rexford, Mont., station of the Great Northern Railway was established in 1903. It was closed in 1972 when the railroad was rerouted due to the flooding of the area behind the Libby Dam. Kaslo and Lardo-Duncan Railway Company.

The company, incorporated in 1897, surveyed and graded a small rail line from Kaslo to Upper Kootenay Lake, which it was unable to finish. It was acquired in 1910 by a GN Canadian subsidiary, the Kootenay Railway and Navigation Company. When that company dissolved in 1911, the line was absorbed into GN.
